Founded 1984, the second Emmaus Community
in the US: eventually included homeless shelters, a soup
kitchen, clothes & food banks, recycling facility and
paramedical response team.
Our Emmaus community adopted Ciudad
Guzman, a city of 90,000 60% destroyed in the Mexico earthquake.
We raised several train loads of relief supplies and building
materials, provided volunteers and funding for a decade.
Total residents and recipients reached
350 per week prior to starting the project in Mexico,
when the project multiplied a hundred fold.
